Later that night, Eddy and Jamie are on patrol when a call comes through about a disturbance and Jamie offers backup, but he is told that they don’t need backup. The mayor is doing a news conference and starts pouring gasoline on the fire by announcing that there will be an independent investigation. Frank is worried that there is going to be backlash and then Garrett comes in and tells Frank that the video footage from Russell’s body cam was leaked. Later, Officer Russell appears in front of the Grand Jury and they decide not to indict him on any charges. The suspect that was shot was only 17 years old and the Mayor is beyond upset by the officer’s actions because he feels like they were excessive.Įrin is working on sealing the video to avoid backlash from the public, but Erin and the DA think that he used proper force.
It also seemed like the suspect didn’t speak English because he was speaking to the officer in Spanish.
Later, Frank is talking to the Mayor and they are watching the body camera footage and it shows that the suspect did have his hands up in the air, but he wasn’t dropping the knife he was carrying. Jamie and Eddy run to find that the other officer, Officer Russell, shot the other suspect and witnesses are yelling that the suspect had his hands up and that Russell didn’t have to shoot him. Eddy and Jamie catch one of them and find a gold chain on him when they go to arrest him, then they heard a gun shot from a distance.
